How to get the most out of your CE budget
- Look for courses that include a certification. Many of the best-value options above also include a certification such as C-DBT or CCTP, so you get a credential and your hours at the same time.
- Self-paced courses are great value. Recorded courses often come with special pricing, and you can spread them over months.
- Check your board before you buy. A great price only helps if the hours count for you. The provider's credit page lists which boards approve each course.
- Don't forget ethics hours. Most boards require some. Free live ethics trainings come up a few times a year; see free CE trainings.
Can you earn CE hours for free?
Sometimes. Free live trainings are common, and watching them costs nothing. The CE certificate is usually an optional, affordable upgrade. Our list of free CE trainings is updated whenever a new one comes up.
CE approval depends on your profession and state. Before you buy, open the credit details on the provider's page and check that your board is listed.
